Being in Cortina, for the second consecutive year of our trail project, signifies important growth.
This year, representing the Fessura Trail Team, Giacomo Forconi and Mario Maresca competed in the challenging 50 km distance. It was a day filled with great emotions, important confirmations, and that touch of unpredictability that only the outdoors can provide.
GIACOMO FORCONI IN THE TOP 10: A STRATOSPHERIC FEAT
After an injury earlier in the year, Giacomo Forconi returned in exceptional form, delivering a masterful performance on the trails of Cortina d'Ampezzo. He showed extraordinary determination, displaying crystalline class and perfect race management. The stopwatch verdict was thrilling: 10th overall out of 971 participants.
Achieving a Top 10 finish at Lavaredo Ultra Trail, especially after a forced break, is a monumental result. A fundamental placement that propels Fessura and our athlete into the elite of national and European trail running. A solid performance, fought for tooth and nail and conquered step by step.
MARIO MARESCA, RETIREMENT IS PART OF THE GAME
Trail running can be as spectacular as it is merciless. Mario Maresca knows this well, as he had to contend with the law of the mountain. After approaching the race with his usual grit and determination, he was forced to withdraw due to a sprain.
Stopping when you have a bib pinned to your chest is the most difficult decision for an athlete, but preserving your physical health always comes first. We know Mario's worth and his dedication, and this setback is just a temporary pause before his next goals.
CONTINUING ON THE RIGHT PATH
We are only in our second year in the world of competitive trail running, yet we continue to achieve significant placements. The new GSR Team model is proving to be an excellent product, footwear capable of delivering extraordinary results in terms of grip, stability, reactivity, and explosiveness on the most technical and challenging terrains.
While our athletes test current models to their limits in the field, behind the scenes, our research and development department is already in full ferment. We are designing and developing new products dedicated to outdoor and road running, ready to once again redefine the standards of performance and comfort for every runner.
The road is laid out, and so are the trails. We continue to run towards the future.
